Where are the toilets in the park?

There are two toilet areas within the park. The toilets at the Abbey end are located within the main courtyard area, just past the gift shop and ice cream parlour. The toilets at the Rufford Mill end of the park are located in the entrance to the Talbot Suite, opposite the famous water splash!

Do you have to pay for the car parking?

Yes, car parking is £6 for the whole day and greatly assists us in the day to day running costs of the park. To find out more, click here.

Do you have to pay to visit the Abbey?

No, once you have paid for the car parking, the Abbey Ruins are free to visit (Please note the Abbey ruins are currently closed due to essential maintenance work).

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are always welcome here at Rufford. To ensure a pleasant environment for all visitors, we request that dog owners act responsibly and to ensure they abide by the following guidelines:

Dogs MUST be kept on a lead and under control at all times.

Dogs MUST remain outside of the Childrens Adventure Playground.

We ask that owners ensure they scoop up and dispose of all “mess” appropriately.

Any owner whose dog is not under control, or causes concern to other visitors in the park, will be requested to leave.

Is the site wheelchair accessible?

Yes. We also offer mobility scooter hire & free wheelchair loan (available from the Admin Office)

Do you have a Changing Places toilet?

Disabled toilets are available in the main courtyard. Our Changing Places hoist is temporarily out of use, we apologise for any inconvenience caused

Can I cycle at Rufford Abbey Country Park?

Unfortunately it is not possible to cycle around the park.

Can I have a BBQ at Rufford Abbey Country Park?

It is not possible to use a BBQ on site.

Can I fly drones around the park?

At Rufford we do not allow the use of public drones for the safety and protection of our visitors. If you are a business looking to use a drone, you will need to put in writing a request prior to any use of drones to the Contracts Manager at Rufford Country Park at ruffordabbey@parkwood-leisure.co.uk.
