Nottinghamshire County Council owns Rufford Abbey Country Park. Parkwood Leisure manages the park, grounds and looks after the 12th century abbey remains in cooperation with English Heritage.

Glendale operatives are responsible for the conservation and upkeep of 150 acres of parkland, gardens and native woodland that change with the seasons. In autumn and winter this includes woodland maintenance and during spring and summer, path maintenance, grass cutting and presentation of the Abbey grounds.

The County Council manages four other country parks: Sherwood, Bestwood, Cotgrave and Holme Pierrpont, along with a wide range of smaller local green spaces all over Nottinghamshire providing free access to nature for local communities. Parkwood Leisure is responsible for the management of Rufford Abbey’s car parks, shops, catering outlets, events and children’s play facilities.
