Memorials are an important and deeply personal way to remembering a very special person and connecting generations long into the future.
A memorial gives you a permanent place of reflection and comfort, where family and friends can remember a loved one for years to come.
Rufford Country Park is a beautiful location with centuries of history and a great way to remember your loved ones.
We are able to offer memorial benches with plaques and wall mounted memorial plaques in a select number of locations around the park. We hope that you will be able to find a memorial that you feel is appropriate and which you feel comfortable with. Park Service staff can provide guidance on the site.
Caring for Our Park: Tribute Guidelines
To protect our local wildlife and ensure our memorial benches remain comfortable, safe, and accessible for all visitors to sit and reflect, we ask that families follow our tribute guidelines:

Official Flower Containers: Fresh, unwrapped real flowers may be placed inside a single, park-approved container attached to the right-hand side of the bench.

Staff Installation Only: To protect materials and maintain park safety, all flower containers must be supplied and installed exclusively by park staff. Please do not screw, tie, or attach personal vases or brackets to the bench.

Protecting Wildlife: To prevent severe ingestion hazards to wildlife, no plastic flowers, artificial wreaths, balloons, candles, glass objects, or soft toys may be left on or around the benches.

Routine Maintenance: To keep the park clean and safe for everyone, our rangers will respectfully remove any unauthorised containers, plastic tributes, or non-permitted items without prior notice.
